As part of the exciting new expansion plans for Fota Wildlife Park more exotic animals will make their home at the new section of the park. An Asian wild dog named a dhole, goat antelope known as a golden takin as well as Japanese cranes are just some of the newest animals to be added to the list. This adds to the Sumatran tigers and wharty pigs from the Philippines which were named recently
It is hoped that the first phase of the project, which will see additions to the park of Sumatran tigers and wharty pigs from the Philippines, will be open to the public by next summer.
August 2015 is the estimated completion date for the new development, which comprises 17 new buildings, including a viewing building and souvenir shop, is completed.
