Support by SECAD for the development of Fota Wildlife Park Animal Care & Conservation Centre

It has just been announced that South and East Cork Area Development (SECAD) will be supporting the construction of a new Animal Care and Conservation Centre at Fota Wildlife Park.

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney was on site to turn the first sod of the expansion and expressed his delight with the exciting project. The new facility which will house native and globally endangered species will cost over €600,000 with a €200,000 grant provided by SECAD.

It is now believed that building works on the Animal Care and Conservation Centre are expected to be completed by August 2013, with the animals moving in towards the end of 2013.
