Fota Island Resort is playing host to a weekend political “think in” for Taoiseach Enda Kenny and his party ahead of the resumption of the Dáil. Some of Ireland’s key government ministers and TD’s will be staying at one of the leading 5 star hotels in Ireland for their annual get together as they discuss and debate key issues before parliament recommences.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny used his visit to Cork to confirm 150 new health care jobs in the city as well as officially reopening of The Kingsley hotel in Cork City following the floods which devastated the existing establishment back in 2009. The refurbished and renovated hotel now stands proudly on the banks of the River Lee and is sure to become a popular location for local Corkonians and visitors alike.
It has been a busy summer on Fota Island with lots of attention nationally and internationally with the hugely successful hosting of the Irish Open at its championship Cork golf club, as well as the opening of the Asian Sanctuary inhabited with some wonderful Sumatran tigers at Fota Wildlife Park.
