Following the huge popularity of Imagine at Fota Island Resort in 2014, the resort will once again be transformed into a festive winter wonderland this Christmas.
This year’s event will be called Fota Wish and aims to build on the success of its predecessor and takes place between the 2th November and 23rd December.

Christmas is just days away and there are many more events and opportunities to make the most out of the festive holiday getting in some last minute shopping and family events etc. And with only days left there is still of course one last chance of a visit to see Santa Claus and his grotto before Christmas day. On Fota Wildlife Park, here on Fota Island in East Cork, Santa is still available to take requests and welcome young guests right up until this Sunday 23rd December.
For the past few weeks from Friday November 23rd and ending this weekend on Sunday 23rd December Santa Claus along with his elves has turned the education complex in Fota Wildlife Park into his grotto. As well as Santas grotto, Fota have embraced the festive spirit with many features of the popular wildlife park complex such as the Red Tour Train all decked out for the festive season. Young patients who attend Cork hospitals will experience some Christmas magic this week as they will be invited to visit Santa at the now unrecognisable Fota House, which has been transformed into a festive wonderland. Over 240 children are expected to experience the Christmas magic on Thursday, December 6th and Friday December 7th thanks to the Cork City Hospitals Children’s Club (CCHCC) volunteers.
The invitation has been sent to children from Cork University Hospital, The Mercy University Hospital, Cork Deaf Association, Edel House and St. Gabriels who will be transported to Fota house in various fancy cars including limousines and mini coopers by local gardaí, the Cork City Fire Brigade and of course the army. From Thursday, December 13th to Friday December 21st, “The Magic of Santa Claus at Fota House” will take place. Half of the proceeds will be donated to the St Vincent de Paul in Carrigtwohill and the other half will go to the house.
The cost of the ticket is €15 per child which includes a very special gift from Santa Claus himself. The ticket also includes admission for up to two accompanying adults. Continue reading
