Sumatran tigers, lions and rhino coming to Fota as part of €6m expansion

You may remember that we informed you of a €6m expansion for Fota a few weeks ago. Finally we have received more information on the project and can reveal that Sumatran tigers, lions and rhino will be making their way to Fota Wildlife Park very soon.

The park which already includes lemurs, giraffes and meerkats, will make their addition to the already prominent Asian Sanctuary in 2013 once planning permission has been confirmed. It is hoped that the Sumatran tigers will be the first two stars of the new venture to arrive by September. The breeding pair of cats will arrive from zoos in France and Germany.
